JAPANESE LOOMS AND WEAVERS

Weaver from Nishijin Ori-Kaikan, Kyoto, Japan

The images of the looms and weavers are from woodblock printed books. The many pictures of weavers and also dyers in antique Japanese wood block books is one indication of the importance of textiles in Japanese Culture

What are your sources for the woodblock prints + paintings of weavers + looms? Did you pull them from a published book or monograph? I would be grateful to know. Thanks!
